The Parish Wedding at the Venue at Efurd Orchards

In December, we had the honor of creating the florals for the Wedding of Raegan Efurd and Garrett Parish at the Venue at Efurd Orchards, near Pittsburg, Texas. It was a beautiful Winter Wonderland Event, just days before Christmas. Check out the beautiful pictures from the wedding photographer. Since I work from behind the scenes on wedding setup, it is always wonderful to actually see pictures of the wedding party carrying the bouquets and everything in action.

A peek into Reagan + Garrett's beautiful winter wedding day ✨

If you want to see even more details of their beautiful day, including the venue and reception decor, please check out their wedding video.

(video seems to not appear on some mobile devices, but can be viewed at this YouTube link. )

Here's a few of the snapshots I took with my phone, while we were decorating the venue. They don't do near the justice as the photographer and videographer have done.
Reagan Efurd Parish Bride
Reagan was an easy bride to work with! She wanted red roses - lots of red roses, white mixed flowers, berries, and lots of draping Christmas greenery. They did not want "matchy-matchy" centerpieces on all the tables, so we made lantern arrangements in several different styles and used candle sticks, candelabras, assorted vases, and containers they had to create all the centerpieces. Inside the venue was primarily gold colors, while the outdoor patio section had silver. They held the rehearsal dinner out on the patio the night before and were able to utilize those centerpieces on both nights.  One specific thing we discussed was an arch completely covered in flowers and we made that happen for her. We had to work through a rain shower to finish the arch, although the rain stopped prior to the wedding and they were able to continue on with the outdoor ceremony, as planned. The Efurd family has built the venue, beside their famous peach and produce shed. The balcony overlooking the reception area was a new addition that was added and debuted at Reagan's wedding.  Be sure to check them out, for hosting your event. Haley and Justin's Wedding

Planning a wedding during a pandemic requires some creativity, but it can be done! Last summer, Kelly contacted me on Facebook and ask if I could create wedding flowers for her daughter's wedding, which was two weeks away. Well of course! That weekend was open on my calendar and we made it happen! Recently, they sent me pictures from the wedding and give permission to share a few of them.

Haley and Justin, the happy bride and groom!

How sweet is this - the bride with her mother and grandmother.
I was able to source the absolutely gorgeous dahlias from a local grower that I had been reintroduced to at last summer's farmers markets that we attended. Along with the dahlias, we used roses and hydrangeas for the bouquets and added just a little touch of blue in the arrangements that were placed on pedestals.
As extra precautions, they even cut the wedding cake on the stage, so everyone would remain seated in the church and spaced out, along with having a live stream of the wedding, for others to view from home.
The bride presented her bouquet to her grandmother after the wedding, You can see the love and special relationship these two have.

We had certain event attendance restrictions at the time and the family took all that into consideration when planning the wedding. That was one reason they waited till closer to time to make sure events didn't get completely shut down. I was refereed to Kelly by a mutual friend and then we discovered we had actually met at one of our shows in 2019. We did not have any face to face wedding consultations and when I delivered the flowers to the church, only the father of the bride was there. Even though it was limited, they still wanted to celebrate the wedding with nice floral arrangements and create a special day for the bride and groom.  I have often said, even though it was a rough year for many, there were also many things worth celebrating in 2020, just like this wedding and the love between this couple.

Thank you Kelly for allowing us to create the flowers for Haley and Justin's special day and for providing the pictures for us to share. Wishing many years of love and happiness to the bride and groom!

Hannah and Collin's Wedding Flowers

Today I had the privilege of designing flowers for Hannah and Colin's wedding. Their colors were pale pink, cream, and white. This arch is one of my favorites to ever design! Hannah had an idea in mind and we created it in her colors and flowers. I absolutely love the cascading flowers!

The arch had pink and cream roses, alstromerias, white cushions, the prettiest hanging green amaranthus I've ever used, along with assorted greenery and babies breath.

We decorated the chairs on the aisle with babies breath and tulle, with the parent rows getting a little extra touch.

The wedding and reception was held at Lantana Road Activity Center just outside of Gilmer. It was a beautiful location to have the wedding outdoors and the reception inside.

A special thanks to Angea for coming out and helping me decorate the arch and chairs! We had to wait on a rain shower to start the outside decorating. Our feet and jeans were wet and our hair was sweaty from the humidity. We had a fun time working together and embraced the #hotmess we were and got a picture in front of our creation! The rain held off for the wedding and they had a fabulous lightening show to the west, as more thunderstorms approached the area. I always heard that "if it rains on your wedding day, you'll be rich."

Congratulations to Hannah and Collin! Wishing you many years of love and happiness together! Thank you for allowing us to have a part of your wedding!

Sympathy Tributes - Casket Sprays

Casket sprays are a tribute to your loved one and many times include the deceased favorite flowers, colors, or interest. This first spray was for a cowboy and the flowers were made on his saddle. The Cowboy rode away in the fall of the year and the family ask me to create a tribute to their dad and pop that would honor him and his interest.

Fall flower casket spray on a saddle

This was another spray for a very sweet lady. The family ask for an elegant fall mixed spray with sunflowers.

100 red roses.
For the woodsy, outdoor man, this spray had a set of antlers from a deer he had shot.
A fall mixed spray for a beloved baseball and softball coach and supporter. Balls were placed in the top of his spray.
My only guidelines for this spray was "colorful for the manly, man." Orange lilies, high and magic roses, blue hydrangeas, dasies, solidago, berries, liatris and curly willow branches were used for this piece.

Another  mixed spray for a man featuring a mixture of colors and flowers.
For this spray, I was told it was a pinky/mauve casket and please make something nice. Knowing that one of the family members loved red roses, I handpicked a mixture of pink flowers, stargazer lilies, and red roses for an elegant feminine spray. I delivered the spray and saw the lady was wearing a red dress and knew the pinks and red flowers were the right combination for her.
A garden style arrangement of pink and purple mixed flowers including roses, lilies, larkspur, callas, alstromerias, stock, delphinum, and snapdragons.
The following sprays were all designed for my family members. This was my dad's saddle and bridle on his casket. My daddy was a rancher, cowboy, and team roper.
For my great uncle- rich burgundy, brown, bronze flowers.
For my uncle - the coffee drinker, it was very appropriate that the roses were called "coffee break."
For Meme- a sweet and pastel garden style spray with pink, lavender, blue, white, and green mixed flowers.
Masculine spring casket spray with yellow, orange, blue, and purple mixed flowers.
I was ask to create a feminine, with a touch of country casket spray in spring colors, but mostly pink and purple. Touches of rope and burlap ribbon where included in this spray to give it a touch of country. I hand picked an assortment of spring blossoms and my client text me after the service "that  EVERYONE loved the casket spray!!!!! It was beautiful and so fitting..."
This was a spring casket spray including her favorite flowers: gladiolas, daffodils, and carnations, along with other spring flowers. It took sourcing flowers from several different locations to find all of her favorites, but I'm glad that I could find them and deliver the request.
A red, white, and blue casket spray. The customer told me that she had used other shops, but there just wasn't the same care, compassion, service, and heart behind the designs. She also said she got more than her money's worth and was very pleased.
It is an honor to help create a final tribute for your loved ones and I truly strive to help take care of you in your time of loss.
