Kayla and Andy's Wedding

A girl dreams about her wedding, often before she ever has a serious boyfriend. It's just what we do! I've known Kayla for over 15 years and she's long said I would make the flowers for her wedding, when the big day finally arrived. She chose  "Timeless Elegance" as her wedding theme.

Kayla and Andy were married this weekend at El Cerrito Lodge and we were there to create the florals for their wedding! Casey Douglas Photography was wonderful to work with at this beautiful venue. I can't wait to see all the pictures their team took at the wedding. Here's a sneak peek she posted on Facebook this week!

El Cerrito is a rustic lodge on a hill top, surrounded by fields of hay, cattle, and deer.

Upon entering the lodge, there were several tables with pictures and we created a case with Kayla's favorite flowers - roses, daisies, and hydrangeas.
This was the toss bouquet that was also used in the entryway.

Their colors were burgundy, blush and white and Kayla loved the organic style that is so popular now, with an assortment of different types of greenery, berries, and foliage. This was her bridal bouquet.

This was one of the bridesmaid bouquets.
Outside we designed an arch with the same types of flowers.
Wine barrels flanked each side of the aisle, with a mound of flowers a top each barrel.
This is the back side of the lodge, from where we were working on the arch.

Back inside for the reception, each table had a centerpiece with assorted flowers in silver mirrored glass style vases.
Fun tid bit - I met the Hays family through Jeff. Anna Jo (Kayla's mom) and Neil were married two months before Jeff and I. We borrowed their wooden spools, tablecloths, and some decor from their wedding for our own wedding! Their wedding cake was good and we hired "Betty Crocker" to make our cake, while we were at their reception (I honestly don't remember her name and that is what everybody was calling the lady, as she made her first cakes for our weddings!)
Speaking of cake - this beautiful one was made by Ladyfingers in Gilmer. On her Facebook page, she describes this as "Sicilian Wedding Cake with Orange Marmalade and Cream Cheese Buttercream."

We had not discussed a cake topper and right before the cake was delivered, Anna Jo ask if I could make a topper. I had just enough flowers left to create this piece for the top! I made the bridal bouquet to fit in the vase and it was displayed on the cake table throughout the reception.
There was the most spectacular sunset as the families were taking wedding pictures and guest mingled about!

Congratulations Kayla and Andy! Wishing you many years of love and happiness together! Thank you for letting me help create your dream wedding!

Hannah and Collin's Wedding Flowers

Today I had the privilege of designing flowers for Hannah and Colin's wedding. Their colors were pale pink, cream, and white. This arch is one of my favorites to ever design! Hannah had an idea in mind and we created it in her colors and flowers. I absolutely love the cascading flowers!

The arch had pink and cream roses, alstromerias, white cushions, the prettiest hanging green amaranthus I've ever used, along with assorted greenery and babies breath.

We decorated the chairs on the aisle with babies breath and tulle, with the parent rows getting a little extra touch.

The wedding and reception was held at Lantana Road Activity Center just outside of Gilmer. It was a beautiful location to have the wedding outdoors and the reception inside.

A special thanks to Angea for coming out and helping me decorate the arch and chairs! We had to wait on a rain shower to start the outside decorating. Our feet and jeans were wet and our hair was sweaty from the humidity. We had a fun time working together and embraced the #hotmess we were and got a picture in front of our creation! The rain held off for the wedding and they had a fabulous lightening show to the west, as more thunderstorms approached the area. I always heard that "if it rains on your wedding day, you'll be rich."

Congratulations to Hannah and Collin! Wishing you many years of love and happiness together! Thank you for allowing us to have a part of your wedding!

Wedding Flowers

A wedding is the special day that a girl dreams about for a long time (many times before she ever meets her soul mate) and has visions of how she wants everything to be on the day they finally say "I do." I love to help bring these visions to life and be a part of those special days!

Rich burgundy flowers, foliage, berries, and pods were used to create a natural, organic, hand picked style bouquet for this outdoor wedding. (photo above and below by MS Photography.)

Soft pink roses, burgundy dahlias and assorted mixed flowers were used for this wedding.

White roses, pinecones, berries, and assorted forest greenery was used in this bouquet, for a private wedding in the woods.

Lemons and Limes was the theme of this wedding, with an arch located behind the bride and groom's table and one outside for the ceremony. A multitude of lemons and limes (approximately 10+ cases) were used in the centerpieces for the reception.

Blush pink and white arrangements flanked the doors, as the bride entered the country church. She wanted there to be flowers in her pictures, as she walked down the aisle.

For my brother's wedding - they wanted an arch completely covered in fall flowers!

This pumpkin tower had their initial carved out and lights were inserted in the pumpkins, to give a glowy welcome as guests arrived at the church.

FarmWedding in a cow pasture! Sunflowers and white daisies were the brides chosen flowers.

With weddings, I've come to expect the unexpected. While the sky was gorgeous and it wasn't raining for the outdoor wedding, it was extremely windy. You may notice there are rusty nails by the mason jars - to keep the bouquets upright, we had to place large nails around the jars for support. We had planned to drape the tables with lots of lace, but it kept blowing off. Thank goodness they were using wooden spools and all of the burlap table clothes were stapled to the edge of the tables.

The bride carried a burlap and lace bouquet from my etsy shop, GypsyFarmGirl. I ask them to save the lace, when her dress was altered and a pieces of lace were used in her bouquet, along with some of her Grandmother's jewelry pieces.
For the boho bride - a wildflower assortment in shades of purple, coral, peach, and white.

My etsy shop focuses on rustic weddings, with burlap and lace bouquets, having been shipped to over 47 sates and several countries. I currently offer burlap in 43 colors and can customize bridal bouquets, bridesmaids arrangements, boutonnieres, corsages, etc. One of my most popular bouquets is the turquoise burlap bouquet.
Vintage lace flowers and brooches are included in some of the keepsake bouquets.
Navy burlap wedding bouquets are another top color choice.
